What are the production processes of Brake pads or brake lining?

    The production process of friction materials for brake pad or brake lining is mainly divided into two stages: formula selection and batch production. After receiving the order and defining the product performance requirements, the first step is to select the applicable formula, adjust the existing formula or develop a new formula. After the test proved to meet the user's requirements, it was put into mass production. The main links of friction material production process include:

     1. Material inspection: conduct necessary inspection on the raw materials to be used, and adjust the proportion in the formula according to the physical and chemical index characteristics.

    2. Ingredients: measure the raw materials according to the proportion determined by the formula. At present, there are two commonly used methods: manual metering and computer automatic batching system automatic metering, the latter is advanced and reliable.

    3. Mixing: mix the prepared raw materials. Mixing can be divided into wet mixing and semi dry mixing. The commonly used mixers are three-axis screw type, two-axis type, plow rake type, etc., and the plow rake type is the most commonly used.

    4. Press forming: divided into one-step forming method and two-step forming method. The one-step forming method is to load the material into the mold and directly hot press it; the two-step method is to pre press the material into the blank and then load it into the hot press mold to hot press it.

    5. Heat treatment: in order to save the hot pressing time and improve the working efficiency of the hot press, the chemical effect of the resin and other organic components in the friction material after hot pressing is not sufficient, so the heat treatment process should be completed at a certain temperature. The commonly used equipment is the heat treatment box which can be programmed and controlled stably.

    6. Appearance processing: necessary finishing processing of product appearance, such as such as brake pad surface grinding, brake pad grooving, brake pad or brake lining chamfering, brake lining outer-arc or inner-arc grinding, painting, riveting, trademark printing, packaging, etc.
